Though organic food has many great qualities, it still has its downsides. It is harder to grow because it spoils faster. Farmers must give plants more than 5 gallons of water a day to keep them from spoiling. They're more fragile in shipping and tend to cost more in the store. Since organic foods don't use pesticides, they have a higher risk of contamination from viruses, bacteria, and other natural, yet harmful factors. Farming organic foods is more expensive to keep the plants alive, healthy, and clean. There is also controversy on whether it will be able to take regular farms' place and sustain itself.
